The Main Hall seats 120 people when prepared for meetings/performances. The Meeting Room will accommodate 30 people and has its own entrance and cloakroom facilities at the northern end of the building.
Both the Hall and the Meeting Room have access to the kitchen and use of the kitchen is charged at £5 per booking. It may occasionally have to be shared with other people booking the adjoining hall. However, for larger functions you will have exclusive use of the kitchen.
The kitchen offers two electric ovens, two electric hobs with a total of 6 plates, a large warming cabinet, a full height fridge, an instant hot water tap for making teas and coffees, a commercial dish washer with a 2 or 3 minute cycle for glasses or crockery plus two large sinks with draining boards. A hand washing sink is also provided. We have recently added a 30 litre hot water urn for making drinks for larger numbers at the same time.
China, glassware and cutlery are provided but the hirers and caterers may need to bring additional items depending on numbers. You also need to bring tea towels. An Inventory of kitchen contents can be viewed below. Please note that the accuracy of this list is subject to any breakages and teaspoons going walkabout!
Table sizes - 60" x 30" and 30" x 36" - 14 of each.
Caterers are welcome to visit by prior arrangement to check the facilities.
Hirers may set up LICENSED bar facilities by PRIOR arrangement and in conjuction with a Temporary Event Notice issued by Winchester City Council. It is the Hirer's responsibility to apply for this licence more than 10 days before the event.
The hall has easy access for people with disabilities: 2 car parking spaces are reserved close to the main entrance. All accommodation is on one level : all doors are of wheelchair width. Induction loops (to aid hearing) are installed in both main rooms. Specially designed toilets for wheelchair users, incorporating baby change units.
